Identity Make Over

This post is about an exploration primer or how to start with self-actualisation if you haven’t done any self-expression activities before? Hear my story.

One day I got a colorful jacket. I was thinking about it for quite some time. Hundreds of jacket types pinned! Oh, until I made that scary move. And so it started. An avalanche of colours, piles of neon orange, greenish-yellow, aqua blue, and lavender purple filled my wardrobe. (Alright, I have to make a disclosure: I love vintage and pre-loved fashion, so don’t judge me just yet!)

Back to my wardrobe… As early as it was for spring, I welcomed colour into my life. Colour shining like a neon sword through the heaviness of darkness, weighting my shoulders.

You cannot change the culture. You can only disturb it.

Fritjof Capra, systems thinker

I followed advice from a systems thinker Fritjof Capra and disturbed myself first. Suddenly, the provocation worked! My true self shines with an inner spark, and plenty of space for creativity opens up.

What if how we dress is how we feel, and how we feel is what we think and do?

Soon enough, I was feeling quite empowered to welcome spontaneity into my life. Go, improvisation! My inner child was alive.

When we are in periods in life when we seek a change, getting a colourful jacket is an easy way to twist our reality.
